What often seems to be a tragedy is for our own good, and if we can praise God no matter what, it can turn out to be the most wonderful blessing in the world.
About the Author:
Merlin R. Carothers is a chaplain (retired lieutenant colonel). He joined the army in l943 and served in the Second World War in France, Germany and Belgium. He belonged to General Eisenhower’s guard after the war. Discharged in l945, he attended Marion University (Indiana) and Asbury Seminary (Kentucky) before taking up the pastorate at a Methodist church in Clypool, Indiana for three years. After entering the army again in l953, Chaplain Carothers served in Germany, Korea, the Dominican Republic, Panama and Vietnam, retiring in l971. He currently serves extensively as a counselor and lecturer.
